Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Counting Down to 2018 - Day 1

First I should like to say 'A pinch and a punch, it's the first of the month' to my very dear friend Lisette, know to most of you as Mrs Beez.

We had a fluttering of snow here yesterday, which has caused something of a sensation around here as we hardly ever get snow before Christmas.  The temperatures have plummeted so there could be more snow on it's way.

Yesterday I shared a special Advent Calender I have made for one of my friends, it contained 31 envelopes and I am back this morning to show you what was in the first one.

It was this little white rabbit wearing a Christmas dress.  She is so sweet and very soft and cuddly.

The reason she is so soft is because I used super soft alpaca wool.  The pattern is 'Bunny Girl' by Julie Williams.

The features are stitched on, with French knots for eyes.

I used a pom pom making to make her massive fluffy tail.

The dress is made of 4 ply cotton and the pattern can be found on Ravelry in the Seasonal Dresses bundle.  This design is called 'Running Reindeer'.

I hope you have a great day and keep warm.

  1. Oh good grief, how adorable is this little guy!! I love bunnies, and your little bunny is so precious! What an adorable little dress she has on! She must be quite a tiny bunny if she fits into one of those little envelopes in the advent box. You should set something in the photo like a can of pop so we can see the size (just a thought). Glad you finally got yourself a new computer. I went almost the entire summer without a proper computer so I know what a pain it is not to have one. Well I hope all has been well with you. Thinking of you and sending hugs :)

  2. Ah, I took a little artistic lisence there, the package with the bunny was in the box but tucked under the envelopes out of sight, she is roughly 25cm high. However, the dress did come out of one of those envelopes.

Despite having splashed out on a new and expensive laptop my problems are not over, it's memory is nowhere as large as the one my old laptop had and does not hold half of my files and it seem to have a problem with my wifi, it freezes every few minutes. It took me 5 hours to load the first photograph on my blog the other evening. I can see that blogging this month is going to be very time consuming.

Wonderful to hear fromm you though.

  3. Pinch and a punch! I have visited your posts out of order so have said how adorable this rabbit is on what is now tomorrow's post BUT I have to say it again because of the tail!! Also, she magically seems to change her 3xoressiin in each of the pictures. I'm very envious of her wardrobe. Gorgeous dress. Xx
