Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Daisy Chain

It is a beautiful day here and I want to make the most of it, but before I rush off I have a very quick post for you.

I have been experimenting recently with making my own backing paper.  I created this one with Stampin' Ups Night of Navy ink.  I put some ink on my craft mat and picked it up with a wet paint brush and brushed it onto a sheet of white card.  I then dipped my brush into the very tiny bit of Cherry Cobbler ink and splashed it onto the card.  Once the card was dry I stamped it with one of the stamps from the Tim Holtz 'Stampers Anonymous - Papillon' set using more Night of Navy ink.

I mounted the whole thing on some Night of Navy card before adding this lovely daisy chain lace and the sentiment - which is from Kanban Crafts

I hope that you have a fabulous weekend.

  2. Fabulous backing paper, love how the stamping looks over the top of the ink. The daisy chain looks stunning against it. xx

    1. Thank you Lisette, I was rather pleased with the background effect and may try that again. I rather liked the lacy daisies too.

    1. Thank you, I am not entirely happy with the sentiment, I tried toning it down with a few brush strokes with the blue ink but I think that perhaps I should have cut it down too. It is funny how some things stand out more in a photo than in real life.
