Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Steampunk ... ish

Good morning

I am fascinated by steampunk images and have at long last plucked up the courage to have a go at something in the style of steampunk.  I thought I would start small and try a set of ATCs.

I created the background for my ATCs with Stormy Skies, Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac on linen textured card.  I then used Vintage Photo to stamped Julie Nutting's script stamp over the top and I used black ink to stamp the Crafty Impressions clock faces.

The little clock pieces were difficult to stick to the card and I got in a bit of a mess more than once!

I named my ATCs after authors who are famous for their stories featuring either fabulous machines or some other steampunk reference.

I am not sure whether I have quite got the hang of it yet but I enjoyed making these ACTs and may, one day, have another go at something in the steampunk style.

  1. Fabulous! I love the background you have made - both the colour and the stamping. The little clock pieces look great and the names are inspired. It took me back to the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony. You need to do more steampunk! xx
